pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4… "Forever chemicals," which are in tap water and bottled water, are also (no surprise) in beer. "There was also a county-level correlation between the total PFAS, PFOA, and PFBS concentrations in drinking water and beers." #environment #beer #pfas

I'm with you, this is the best episode after Those Old Scientists. And absolutely on the Guinness. Also Guinness has its signature glass, if the St James Gate Brewery still exists so should that pint glass. And those formal uniforms looked outstanding. A lot of the costumes were wonderful.

Taking readings while I prep the gyle for my Altbier. Next step, temp controlled conditioning and then a long lager till it's ready to tap some time in September.
A test tube with altbier in it and a hydrometer to take specific gravity measurements. In the background is a carboy full of beer with a siphon going into a 5 gallon keg

Ok so I’m in Ireland, it’s been a long day, and I’m after a few beers now. So um. Is this is “must look at the news right now” thing or can it wait? ‘Cos I’ve two more beers left and a bed to get into with a warm woman warming it. That’s the vibe. Don’t want to ruin it. But I need to know. Damnit.

#scientists of bsky, silly question for you. Considering the size of flies compared to the amount of rot in trash, and the amount of fermentation that happens in that trash, is it safe to say the majority of flies are drunk all the time? Thank you for helping with my weird brain thoughts.
