Laszlo: BAAAT

A not anatomically correct zubat, in that I coloured it a bit wrong, coloured on dried hot glue with posca pens in the shot at the top

Lex Luthor marker portrait #smallville #michaelrosenbaum #lexluthor #dccomics #dcu

A portrait of Lex Luthor from Smallville, done with alcohol markers. He’s wearing a purple shirt and looking off to the side.

Lex’s shirt is a lot more bisexual-colored than intended. xD I didn’t have a purple marker, so I used maroon and blue. I was considering doing a metallic purple Posca, but there’s something cool about the multicolored layers here.

I was really nervous about doing a realistic portrait with alcohol markers! I don’t even know what color I would use for the shadows of his skin. Those are so complex and require mixing of skin plus blue or green or gray. I didn’t have the freedom to mix colors that I have with watercolors, so I put some periwinkle on top of the darker shade of his skin tone. I think the effect turned out nicely. I used a mix of Copics and less professional alcohol markers. Some of them don’t blend that well. Trying to blend the purple into his skin didn’t really work. And some of my Copics are low on ink. As usual, markers are always a risk. If I run out of a color, I’m doomed! That actually happened with my black marker. I started coloring his one sleeve, and then I realized I had to use an emergency tactic and switch to watercolors. I tried sticking with markers as long as I could.

Looks like the answer is cause of the posca markers :( bc poscas are water-based, the varnish apparently reactivated the water in them when I started applying it.

I tried applying liquid varnish on an original piece for the first time and my paint started bleeding almost immediately

Inspired by the dragons from Reign of Fire, with my own fun twist of saturated colors done with brush pens & posca paint pens. This was a sketchbook doodle I did awhile ago while vending at a market.

Bro is just so weird. From the “I kill the meat I eat” a few year back, to his SNL-esque rap song, and now this “Meta needs more masculine energy” guy shows he can’t even drink a beer. He’s vibing like the love child of Dr. Evil and Urkle. apple.news/AcqpoSCa0SEG...
