Age gap au with katsuki being an older pro hero (36) and izuku being an up and coming Younge hero(19-20) who insists being around "kacchan" all the time and people being flabbergasted when izuku is talking about /the/ Dynamight, scowly and 'grumpy' katsuki bakugou. which only confuses izuku because kacchan is irresistibly adorable to him. Regardless katsuki knows izuku has a crush on him, refusing to date him on a morale standpoint, something they talked about extensively because katsuki insists izuku doesn't know what he's getting into and izuku is stubborn. "You're to Younge" he argues, "you have your whole life ahead. Be realistic." Izuku only glares, "that's not fair, you're the only one who thinks it's not." It's smth they toss up a lot. Then izuku leaves for the states, and when he comes back (stronger than ever,) he's so open about his feelings for dynamight that it's impossible to be around them and not get second-hand embarrassment. They do end up dating, And yes dynamight ends up with his back blown out. Izuku is so weirdly possessive throughout, but calms down when they're dating because he knows he's 'caught' kacchan for good. Like katsuki was a long-term hunt. Whatever the fuck that freak thinks.. anyway .. ty for listening to my ramble hehe.. I hope you enjoy ^^!!

ahhhh 😭 i'm sorry, nonny, this isn't quite tickling my writing bone the way i would like it to, haha!!

just some general thoughts & hcs about something similar to this that i have been marinating (to no avail):

— i think izk would call him "bakugo-san" or "katsuki-san" more realistically even if he is like a major otaku fanboy about dynamight in private 😂

— part of the reason i shy away from doing age gap in canonverse is because...the timeline sort of gets away from me? oTL i realize this is probably just a me problem, haha, but i'm like. wait AM would have already chosen a successor, no??? where's shigaraki??? or did deku come by his powers elsewhere??? 😵‍💫 whatever, it's just me overthinking things, lmaooo

— okay back on track with my thoughts here!! ahem. let's leave all of the canon/shigaraki thoughts to the side. assuming that izk came into his powers through the Grace Of The Powers That Be (NOT all might!!) around age 12 and bkg took izk under his wing, i think izk's hero worshipy crush takes on tones of a Crush Proper from ages 12-14 and katsuki is obviously observant and picks up on it, but he works really hard to ice izk out because he's just a kid yk

— by age 15, izk goes abroad (europe, the US, doesn't really matter, lol) the point is, that he doesn't come back until he's 18-19 and woahhhh he has really grown into a looker, huh. i imagine by this time bkg is early 30s, so he's still WAY too old for izk but like he gets why izk is so popular. they've had enough time apart for bkg to be like well. he's a proper hero in his own right. surely he's over his stupid kiddy crush.

— by all outward signs, izk is WAY over him. he's sweet and top 10 immediately, nobody can stop talking about his crazy feats. bkg thinks izk is pushing himself too hard and maybe for izk's 20th birthday he invites izk out to go drinking. they're practically coworkers, right! izk plays it very nonchalant and manages to glean from this convo when bkg gets VERY inadvisably tipsy that bkg is complaining about not having any reliable long-term sidekicks and izk is like. damn i can't even volunteer, i have to show him that i'm his EQUAL nothing less

— anyways (*waves hand lazily*) the point is izk finally snaps shortly after that because he NEEDS to fuck that grumpy old man, dammit, and he cries about how he's wanted bkg for soooo long, pleaseeeeee can i have some hole, pleaseeeee and bkg is like 💢 what the FUCK!!

i also like older bottoms btw 😂 just...a diff flavor of them? omegaverse maybe (solemn nod). knock that old man up, deku. godspeed 🫡
