one argument i have been making in my column for like half a decade — and an argument i will make in the book i am working on 👀 — is that when breakthroughs happen, change can come all at once. i do think that the 2026 opens the door to major political reform

given the extent to which the florida media market is a total resource sink, i think the DSCC made a defensible decision in putting its resources elsewhere. louisiana is a big whiff though. that is a race where a little money would have gone a long way.

Big local flip: Democrats have flipped the county board of Washoe County, Nevada. That’s Reno. State’s second largest. This is a big deal. The far-right commissioners here repeatedly refused to certify election results in 2024 until courts intervened to allow elections to be resolved.
