This is purely fantasy, but if I were producing a revival of the Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour, the panel would look something like this, with the red cells being the permanent panelists. I think Marcello Hernandez and Kate McKinnon would make excellent cohosts / panelists.

Didn't lead in the stats like that, but no doubt our most crucial Chain Snatchers were Sam Mewis and Jess Fishlock. They struck fear in our opponents and truly made them clutch their chains on a weekly basis. Not a single chain link or diamond was getting past Aubrey Bledsoe. Snatched everything.

I dug out this photo for the post since it's not in any of the Savoy books: the Gruesome Twosome in 1979, photographed in the Savoy office by the actual Kevin Cummins. Dave was never that morose but the interview was partly about the ongoing police harassment of the bookshops.

Very much enjoying revisiting "City Beneath The Sea". Great discovery this time round - realising that Denis Goacher, who plays Swendler is also the voice of Control in "The Macra Terror". That's him in this screengrab, stopping Gerald Flood from lamping Aubrey Morris.
