like idk sorry, Heaven Will Be Mine is better mecha that basically all Gundam after 1988, Mechspoiltation came out of almost no where and is finding new places in mecha to play, it's just like... come on guy. can you really not imagine a different world?

Watching the battle between Scirocco and Haman Karn contain a section where they mentally battle using their immense psychic pressure, due to being evolved beings, and laughing that I used to see people talking about how realistic and grounded Gundam was.

A crucial part of gundam for me is that a protagonist cannot "win", just like I cannot win against the society I live in. Best you can do is learn to live within it.

Been rewatching the zeta Gundam dub during work and at the end of every episode, the narrator always says "you will see the tears of time" and yet he never shows time crying. Is this guy just a big liar liar pants on fire???

Incredible to see people completely misconstruing Tsurumaki's words here. He's saying that big robots aren't really all that popular anymore and that might even affect Gundam in the future... is he wrong? How many mech anime do you see been made these days, rather, the past two decades?

26 minutes agoReading the article, I don't think he's wrong about the general atmosphere surrounding mecha. That being said, if Gundam was just "Robots the Anime" it wouldn't have survived its infancy. I think he's discounting the draw of the ideals that have been the heart of the series since the 80's.

Ophelia and I watched F91 recently, and about a third of the way through, they holed up in the big old Gundam museum and I thought "oh... is this gonna be like Die Hard, but with Gundams?"
it was not. I was disappointed
but I still want Die Hard but with Gundams
