The series is incredible, and I think the movie is a great one-off that is almost unrecognizable as Escaflowne.
I miss the era when anime movies of TV shows were just, a completely different thing.

Thought I'd give this a try:
My first gunpla model, a "Zeta Gundam". These are plastic kits that can be assembled without any glue (!). This one is about 14cm tall, I am about halfway through the build.
The precision of the cast parts is amazing.

Also for those wondering, this does have every Gundam series/media I've watched. As well as a lot of, but not all, sci-fi media I've engaged with. The latter focuses pretty hard on stuff I saw before getting into Gundam.

rewatching escaflowne for the first time since freshman year of college like 20 years ago was a revelation
it quickly became one of my top 10 all-time favs. Just an absolute masterpiece.
