Ha! and funny enough, I made a mistake in my solve. (notice the top right hex which is now correct, but in my previous posts was incorrect). So that's more UI / UX stuff for me to address. The game wouldn't mark the board solved, so I had to hunt for the error -- #gamedev #gamedesign #MathSky
The top right hexes are circled in red. The poster indicated that in a previous post the values for those hexes were incorrect.

Today's Putnam practice gem: If p ≡ 1 (mod 4) is prime, then [(p-1)/2]! is a square root of -1 modulo p. Can you prove it? 🧮

We can reason that the bottom left hex (circled in yellow) must be 1 because 3 + 1 + 4 + x + y = 10 with x, y > 0 and both integers. Once we have that the rest of the board is immediately solvable with just subtraction. Some light Diophantine stuff at play -- #MathSky #gamedev #logicpuzzle
The bottom left hex is circled in yellow and filled with a value of 1.

I was worried that the puzzle would be too hard and the system would be too large (like 6 equations, 6 unknowns), but this hasn't happened yet. My process chooses edge sums at random while I test for solvability. But playability is definitely all this fiddling. -- #gamedev #MathSky #braingame

To be honest, I do not find Freudenthal's suspension theorem all that suspensefull #MathSky
