This week a Farm Bill appears in the House with language trying to shield Monsanto (Bayer) from legal liability from Roundup pesticides causing cancerāshielding the company from billions in liability. Same company that Trumpās White House Chief of Staff and former AG lobbied for. Weāre a HELL NO!
Headed back to Washington, where @houserepublicans.bsky.social are pushing: š Trumpās illegal war driving up costs š More cuts to SNAP š° Billions more for ICE & CBP Thereās a better path. Thatās why Iām pushing to end the forever wars and lower costs for families.
The Trump Administration tariffs and $20 Billion they doled out to Argentina from US taxpayers, was not well received in regions like the one I represent in NW Ohio. Imagine how those dollars could be used instead to help farmers meet the increasing costs they're bearing right now.
MAHA advocates are fed up with this administration paying lip service to their movement while delivering win after win for the chemical industry. Letās just say EPA Admin. Zeldin did not respond well to being called out on his and his agencyās MAHA hypocrisy.
Small businesses are the fabric of our local economies, and they should not have to go into debt to keep their doors open because of Trumpās tariffs.Ā Ā These tariffs are unconstitutional, and I will hold Trump accountable to make sure that small businesses get their fair share back.
DACA recipients grew up here. They're our neighbors, our teachers, our nurses, our small business owners, and leaders. Passing the American Dream and Promise Act is long overdue. The bill will guarantee permanent protections for Dreamers and provide them a pathway to citizenship.
The Constitution is clear: states run elections, not the White House. While President Trump has tried to unilaterally usurp powers he simply does not legally possess, this coalition has intervened to ensure the administration follows the rule of law. www.wlns.com/news/nessel-...
At $23 for a bale of hayāour farmers and ranchers are facing a perfect storm! From the cost of diesel, to drought, to tariffs, to cuts to basic food programsāour communities are struggling. Thatās why Iām here to take a stand on the Farm Bill for New Mexico this week!
Trump wants to weaponize taxpayer data to target immigrants. People who work hard and pay their taxes shouldnāt have to fear their personal information being used against them. And this wonāt stop there. If he gets away with targeting immigrants today, your information could be next tomorrow.
For 10 years, Tempe's own FABRIC has proven Arizona can lead on sustainable, American-made fashion ā supporting more than 2,500 local entrepreneurs. I was honored to present founders Sherri Barry and Angela Johnson with a Congressional Commendation on their 10th anniversary.
In Wisconsin, we help and take care of each other. When a neighbor's in need, we roll up our sleeves and get to work. Red or blue, it doesnāt matterāand it shouldnāt. We darn well ought to be able to expect the same from the President of the United States of America. Shameful.
Here in California, we all know how important it is for people to find homes they can afford and enjoy. Thatās why I'm proud to deliver $3 million to expand affordable housing in San Bernardino County and give hundreds of our neighbors a safe and comfortable place to live.
April is #SocialSecurityMonth, a vital resource that millions of seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities rely on every day to live their lives. I will keep working to protect and expand these hard-earned benefits from Trump and Republicans' attacks on Social Security. That's a promise.
As the semester comes to a close at our schools across Austin, letās celebrate every student crossing the finish line. An investment in our students is an investment in our workforce & economy. Your hard work & dedication strengthen our community. Best wishes on finals and congrats to all graduates!
257,937 Californians lost food assistance because of Trump's One Big, Ugly Bill. That means thousands of kids, seniors, and veterans can't afford to put food on the table because Republicans. As if that wasnāt bad enough, now theyāre doubling down and making it permanent with their Farm Bill.

Big congrats to @xavier.edu on landing its largest federal grant ever ā a huge win for expanding biomedical research opportunities for students. We pushed the Administration for this funding, and weāre excited to watch this expertise keep growing in SW Ohio.

I met with small business owners in #McMinnville that are struggling to keep their doors open because of Trumpās disastrous tariffs. Iāll keep fighting until we put a stop to these tariffs for good and deliver needed relief to the businesses and consumers who paid the high price.
š¢Join my staff on Tuesday, May 26 at the Hamden Miller Memorial Library for our Passport Day & Community Resource Fair. Don't miss this opportunity to renew or apply for your U.S. Passport (by appointment) & learn about local resources. We look forward to seeing you there!

Congratulations to all who participated in our #TX07 Congressional Art Competition, and thank you to our judges from UH, HCC, & the Houston Islamic Arts Society for selecting our finalists, whom I was glad to welcome to a reception celebrating their work Saturday.
3 million Americans have lost access to food stamps since Republicans passed the largest SNAP cut in history. Instead of ending hunger, the GOP's proposed Farm Bill abandons vulnerable children & families. We have the means to eradicate hunger. Republicans donāt have the will.
REMINDER: The Senate unanimously passed a bill to fund DHS 31 days ago. We passed it unanimously AGAIN 25 days ago. But instead of ending the DHS shutdown and funding agencies like TSA & the Secret Service, Speaker Johnson has dragged his feet & failed to put it up for a vote.
Corporations are making record profits while Trump turns his back on workers and wines and dines with billionaires. Ā In Congress, I'll always champion workers' rights to join a union and stand together for better benefits, protections, and dignity in the workplace.
Teri's story broke my heart. She lost her husband to cancer after spraying RoundUp on their farm for 40+ years. Bayer has paid ~$10 BILLION to settle RoundUp lawsuitsāand just set aside another ~$7 billion for future cases. You don't pay that kind of money because there's nothing to worry about.
As 25M acres of forests are destroyed each year, I led my colleagues in urging the European Union to stand tall against Trump's bullying. Our forests serve as our planet's lungs and home to so many unique plants and animals. The EU Deforestation Regulation is critical to protect forests worldwide.
Community is everything. Weāre showing up for our neighbors, sustaining each other daily. A joy and a blessing to be in the trenches with you @aoc.bsky.social building a more just world. The state of our movement is strong and this conversation meant so much to everyone who came through.
This funding isĀ fantastic news for Northwest Washington ports. The Port of Everett andĀ Swinomish Indian Tribal CommunityĀ will put these dollars toĀ good use.Ā I will keepĀ working to bring homeĀ federal dollars toĀ upgrade local ports and create jobs in Northwest Washington.
Energy leaders in Houston have made clear that what they need most from government is the ability to trust the regulatory process to be consistent and fair. Losing trust and credibility as a partnerāat home and abroadāis bringing real harm to the United States. It doesn't have to be this way.
Happy to report after my weekly oversight visit at 26 Fed today that detainee numbers are down & there were no courthouse arrests. An encouraging development. Our immigrant neighbors who are simply following the rules & attending their routine check-ins and hearings should not have to live in fear.
We need effective, fully funded agencies with qualified staffers to best help the homeless population in King County. We cannot afford to lose track of $8 million in public funds. Disfunction at the top will trickle down to those receiving services, and that is something that Seattle cannot afford.
The Trump administration cancelled major energy projects across 16 states just because they voted for Kamala Harris and not Trump. Their own lawyers even admitted they targeted blue states. I called TrumpāsĀ Energy Secretary out on it. Our states pay taxes & I wonāt stand for this kind of garbage.
BREAKING: As we kick off National Apprenticeship Week, we're excited to announce for the fifth year in a row that we had record-high enrollment in our Youth Apprenticeship Program. A record 12,141 students enrolled to earn while they learn and build their careers in Wisconsin.
April is National Minority Health Month ā a reminder that too many people of color still face barriers to receiving mental health care. Iām fighting to reduce stigma, expand our mental and behavioral workforce, and ensure everyone can access culturally relevant care š« #MentalHealthMonday
The American Leadership in AI Act brings together over 20 bipartisan legislative proposals to strengthen US leadership in AI. AI presents a wide range of policy challenges & opportunities, & we should continue working to advance thoughtful solutions. Read more here: lieu.house.gov/media-center...
Jesse Crenshaw was a man of many firsts, breaking racial barriers and serving as an inspirational leader for Kentuckians. A veteran, lawyer, state representative, teacher and father, Jesse made a difference in the lives of many, and his legacy will live on for generations. 1/2
Great to see Phoenix Coding Academy students Sean Collay and Antoni Gonzalez, who were the 2026 Congressional App Challenge winners representing our district, here in DC. Iām so impressed by their app, NaviCare, and proud of their contributions to the National Congressional App Challenge last week.

We donāt always recognize the heroes amongst us until it is too late. Orland Rivas is such a hero. Sending condolences to his family, his students and the entire Buffalo Grove community. May his memory forever be a blessing. www.dailyherald.com/20260425/new...
Huge congrats to our Congressional App Challenge winner, Rylan Pierce. His app, Generations Connect, is building community by allowing senior citizens to hire local high school students for tasks around their homes. You make Oregonās 4th congressional district proud!š§āš»
Iāve been an organic farmer for decades. I can tell you this: We DON'T need toxic chemicals like glyphosate to grow food. Rep. Massie and I have an amendment to strip the pesticide liability shield from the Farm Bill and allow states + communities to warn citizens about the dangers of glyphosate.
