This week: Culdcept Saga. A game i've never fully learned as much as I would have liked to, but was so enjoyable in the time I got to play it. It's a hybrid of a strategy board game and a collectable card game. I hope one day sees a re-release, cause it deserves it.

An excellent remake of a cult favorite SNES RPG, helmed by Dragon Quest studio ArtePiazza and featuring a newly arranged soundtrack by Yoko Shimomura herself in addition to the original SNES soundtrack.

For this #RandomGameSaturday, I have Wild Arms XF, the only strategy RPG take on the series. As a big Wild Arms fan, you'd think I'd have finished it around launch, but the game's challenging, puzzle-like map design pushed me away.
I really want to revisit it, so maybe 2026 will be the year!

Being a fan of the anime, I was pretty excited when the original Steins;Gate was officially released in english so I had pre-ordered the physical edition from JAST. Came with an official fanbook and some science lab pins.

Pinball, 1981?, Gakken.
Decent pinball action, though it likes to be mean and drain. No game sound, but beeps for the alarm. It's thin and pocketable.
I just adore the fonts and bright playfield. Every one of these that I've seen is yellowed, though.

Notably produced by Yuji Naka, this game was kind of made twice. The Wii version was finished in 2011, and the Wii U version in 2015. They were both sold in the same box, as seen here.

#RandomGameSaturday Mario & Wario (Super Famicom) Use the SF’s mouse to help Mario and friends make it to the end of each level. Wario is the villain! Produced by GameFreak - of Pokemon fame - and only released in Japan. It seems that NoA wasn’t too interested in games that required the mouse.

On this #randomgamesaturday, here's a quite nice big box limited edition of the first Disgaea for PS2 with a wee art book and a two disc soundtrack. I wound up owning it largely by accident, and have never seriously played a Disgaea game (Prinny on PSP aside), but maybe someday!

You open an arcade in 1978, and have 20 years to run it as successfully as you can. I bought it randomly off of Suruga-ya & love it! It's like my first board game :)

OlliOlli is a standout 2D Skateboarding game that constantly challenges the player to really learn the most optimal route of the course whilst mastering multiple tricks to achieve an high score that eventually spawned newer games that push the concept further.
