With state National Guard units creating “quick reaction forces” for “crowd control” at the Pentagon’s request, and ICE increasing its annual spending on guns, armor, and chemical weapons by 600%, a domestic “forever war” against US citizens seems likely. Ruth Ben-Ghiat

This is not a reaction to the shooting of the National Guard members This is a plan, triggered by it That the plan was triggered by an emotionally unstable, easily manipulated immigrant with CIA connections, doing the inexpressible shooting raises a great many questions. Impartial investigation?😹😹

Don't ever call this THING a president!

The National Guard should be home this holiday season. Today together with our allies at Common Defense we asked holiday shoppers to share their reasons why they want the Guard to go home. Our demand remains: National Guard out NOW.

A man in a baseball hat holds a large gift box with multicolored note cards attached to it. A woman in a sweatshirt with a bag over her shoulder attaches a note to it
Multicolored notes have reasons for the National Guard to leave

There is no version of reality where Pete Hegseth was remotely qualified or morally fit for the position he occupies. That’s why our troops are in danger, it’s why our National Guard members were shot, it’s why we have armed, masked thugs terrorizing people…

The shooting in D.C. that seriously injured two National Guard members shows “there are costs to performatively deploying members of the military—one of which is the risk of endangering them,” @juliettekayyem argues: www.theatlantic.com/ideas….

It was an honor to meet with leadership of the Washington State National Guard. Our National Guard members sacrifice so much to serve this country, and it is critical that we work to ensure that their skills are respected and used correctly, not politicized by this administration.

Some National Guard news: Lindsey Appiah, Bowser's top public safety deputy, said in a hearing Thursday MPD is no longer patrolling with the guard, as they did after last week's shooting. We've heard reports of the NG alongside MPD as recently as yesterday, so we'll see...
PARKER: there were reports that the president would deploy five hundred additional National Guards people to the district and that there would be a different level of coordination between MPD and National Guards. Can you give an update on what that might look like?
APPIAH: That was a short term, so in the wake of the shooting which happened a week ago, MPD just quite frankly, like we they often do in the wake of a shooting, after Capitol Jewish Museum, increasing presence around synagogues or otherwise, for a short period of time, which I believe that's ended at this point.
PARKER: So residents should not expect to see National Guards, armed National Guardsmen with MPD officers.
APPIAH: That's correct.

Activating he National Guard throughout the Deep South red states and targetting blue cities around the United States is not going to end well. Trump needs to stop acting like he has his own private militia and using our military against us. Full stop. www.democracydocket.com/n….

That the tariffs and National Guard deployment cases are still sitting on the Supreme Court docket while it greenlit an unconstitutional racial gerrymander tells you all you need to know about its priorities.
