I hope the old slangs never completely die out - but again I always embrace the new slang my kids bring home because that's the heart of what slang is. I have several dictionaries of old slang and the kids love embracing those too. I'm so glad you & your wife share that love! 💖

Yeh that sounds frustrating! In wood turning it's finding cracks, inclusions and other surprises in a piece of wood you thought was okay, or finishing a piece and watching moisture content changes reveal all the imperfections :) Keep posting the pictures, I love seeing what you're making.

It doesn't come off as pity-seeking, it comes off as genuine and I think it's what most folks feel before we show our 'baby' to the world. And it's good to acknowledge that's how we feel - it's normal to be human and it shows how much passion has gone into the game. I have FAITH it'll rock tho🔥🔥🔥

And @itsmayavee.bsky.social is an absolute gem and made sure I felt very welcome when I had my first ever signing at NYCC in 2023. She's also the one that took the photo that is my current header! I'm still grateful she captured that moment <3

Increasingly starting to feel less cool with the amount of killing (justifiable* or not ) inherent in a lot of elf games. At least, I'm starting to feel less and less that unexplored violence is neutral because it's taking place in a play space.

Even though we didn't get to work together, @jamesbemmett.bsky.social was always there to answer any questions I had when I was pitching comics. He even took the time to hop on call with me to go over industry developments, trying to give me a better shot at succes. I'm very grateful still.

Factory workers are underpaid and using industrial machinery - the idea that because they have hands makes them handmade is why places like Etsy are swamped with cheap manufactured dice sets that cost less than a score; they're not handmade at all. Our humanity and our time is the value.

You're getting something ethically handcrafted by an artist, not churned out some factory.

This video took four days to make, showing a snippet of each intensive piece of the process in handcrafting a dice set. So after all the materials, the expensive equipment, the five years of experience - every set takes 5-6 hours to make, complexity dependent.
